In this introductory-level session at the 2018 ACES Society for Editing conference in Chicago, Sarah Grey and I will walk you through the ins and outs of scholarly publishing, including editing journal articles, dissertations, book proposals, and books.
Topics covered will include how academics’ needs differ from those of other editing clients, what university presses look for from their authors and how editors can help them provide it, and how much specialization you need to do different kinds of academic editing.
