Ayesha Chari (she/her) is a copyeditor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps interdisciplinary scholars make their research widely accessible, express ideas with sensitivity and clarity, and take new voices to growing audiences.
Ayesha runs her own freelance editing business and has a decade of in-house editing experience with Macmillan India and Seagull Books. She provides line editing, copyediting, and reference editing services for academic and non-fiction texts, with an equally sensitive approach to writers’ voices and readers’ expectations.
She is an advanced professional member of the Chartered Institute for Editing and Proofreading in the UK and a member of ACES: The Society for Editing in the US.
Ayesha earned her MA in education from the University of Calcutta, India. When not at her desk, Ayesha binges on films and books, occasionally doodles, hugs trees, and enjoys coparenting and unlearning norms with her husband and their child.
