Dana Johnson (she/her) is a copyeditor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps scholars present their work in the best light through clear and conscious writing.

Dana has run a freelance editing business for over a decade, where she offers copyediting, line editing, developmental editing, and proofreading to authors, organizations, and publishers. She also reviews educational content as a science subject matter expert and sensitivity reader.

Dana earned her BS in biology from Purdue University, MS in physiology from the University of Cincinnati, teacher licensure from Xavier University, and professional sequence in editing certificate from UC Berkeley Extension.

She is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, ACES: The Society for Editing, and the National Science Teaching Association.

When not working, Dana reads, sews, solves word puzzles, and continues to settle into her old house with her big family.
