Lisa Fedorak is an indexer at Ideas on Fire, where she uses her interdisciplinary background to create thoughtful indexes that guide a reader across a book’s intellectual contributions—from large insights to small research gems.
She runs her own freelance indexing business, which specializes in scholarly publications in the humanities. She is interested in how our minds work, how we navigate the world, how we create ideas that can instigate change, and how we make meaning through sight and sound.
A former executive director and curator of nonprofit arts organizations, Lisa brings her interdisciplinary arts and fashion background to bear on her indexes.
She is the current membership secretary and conference programming chair of the Indexing Society of Canada and a member of the American Society for Indexing’s Pacific Northwest chapter.
Lisa earned her MFA at Western University in Ontario and her BFA from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
