Lisa Sinclair (she/her) is a copyeditor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps interdisciplinary scholars find the right words to make their work sing.
She is also a literary translator from French and brings her linguistic skills to bear on multilingual projects.
Lisa began her career in academic publishing in the editorial department of a small independent press before working in the production department at Cambridge University Press for several years.
Since starting her freelance editing business, she has worked on a wide range of humanities books and journal articles for academic publishers and authors as an editor, proofreader, and editorial consultant.
Lisa is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CEIP) and earned her BA in French studies from the University of London Institute in Paris and her MA in translation and interpreting studies from the University of Manchester.
Originally from the UK, she now lives in Toronto with her partner and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys strolls by the lake, regular cinema trips, and exploring her new surroundings.
