Dr. Megan Bayles is a copyeditor at Ideas on Fire where she helps interdisciplinary writers hone their prose and express their ideas with precision and clarity.
Megan has over a decade of experience editing a range of work, from plant breeding to humanities scholarship to curricular guides. She specializes in book manuscripts, journal articles, and professional documents for scholars across the disciplines, as well as writers of fiction and creative nonfiction.
She has been a lecturer in American studies at the University of California, Davis as well as a lecturer in liberal studies at the San Francisco Art Institute.
Megan is the coeditor, with Achy Obejas, of Immigrant Voices: 21st Century Stories (Great Books Foundation, 2014).
Megan earned her PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of California, Davis and her BA in interdisciplinary studies from Macalester College.
She spends as much time as possible garment sewing and hanging out with her partner and kids.
