Dr. Sheryl Kaskowitz (she/her) is a copyeditor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps interdisciplinary scholars express their ideas in clear writing that engages readers within and beyond their fields of study.
Sheryl’s freelance editing practice focuses on individual authors and nonprofit organizations. She served as associate journal editor of VUE: Voices in Urban Education, was in-house editor for the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, and has also worked as a qualitative researcher and writer on equity in education projects.
She published her first book with Oxford University Press in 2013; has published articles in the New York Times, Slate, Humanities magazine, and the Avid Listener; and has been interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered, WYNC’s The Takeaway, ABC News’s Start Here, and The Texas Standard.
Sheryl earned her PhD in music (with an ethnomusicology focus) from Harvard University and her BA in music from Oberlin College.
