Sofía Jarrín is a copyeditor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps interdisciplinary, progressive scholars polish and publish their intellectual work.
She has over a decade of bilingual (Spanish/English) copyediting and translation experience with academic publishers and nonprofit institutions, both in the United States and in Latin America.
She is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and has edited for Editorial Abya Yala in Ecuador (a collective international publishing project at the service of Indigenous and Afro-American peoples), the International Security journal, and Nonprofit Quarterly.
Sofía has a MA in journalism from Harvard University Extension School and has multiple years of experience as a community journalist and radio producer.
Originally from Quito, Ecuador, she lives with her bilingual family in Massachusetts where she enjoys walks on the beach—come rain, snow, or sunshine.
