Alexandra Sastre, PhD, is a writer at Ideas on Fire where she brings her feminist media studies background to bear penning articles that help progressive scholars integrate their social justice goals into their careers.
Alexandra is passionate about media literacy and helping others think critically about popular culture. Her writing and research have been published in the journals Feminist Media Studies, Communication Culture and Critique, Celebrity Studies, and Visual Communication Quarterly.
Prior to her graduate work, Alexandra worked as a research coordinator and project manager with the Philadelphia interactive design firm Night Kitchen Interactive, helping bring dynamic and participatory technology to museums and cultural spaces nationwide.
Alexandra received her PhD from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and her BA in art history from Swarthmore College.
