Rudy Leon


Rudy Leon is an indexer at Ideas on Fire, where she writes indexes for interdisciplinary scholars that help their books reach diverse audiences within and beyond the academy.

She also runs her own indexing and editing company specializing in editing academic and trade non-fiction, dissertations, and scholarly articles.

Rudy has over 20 years of experience in editing, academic librarianship, leadership, public speaking, training, and academic research and writing.

She has served as the Education Committee Chair of the Editorial Freelancers Association and held librarianship positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; the University of North Carolina Wilmington; the University of Nevada, Reno, and SUNY Potsdam.

Rudy earned her MS in library science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, her MA in women’s studies and religion from Claremont Graduate University, and her BA in religious studies from Humboldt State University.
