Summer McDonald is an editor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps interdisciplinary scholars hone their arguments and create powerful work that resonates with readers.
She also runs her own freelance editing business and is a former developmental editor at the Great Books Foundation.
Summer is a writer whose work explores literature, race, sports, and popular culture. Her writing has appeared in the Black Youth Project, Specter Literary Magazine, and the Literary Hub. In March 2017, Summer was selected as a member of the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) Emerging Critics inaugural cohort.
Summer received her MA in English from the University of Chicago and her BA in English from Purdue University.
