Ideas on Fire is heading to Ann Arbor soon to lead a workshop at the 2018 International Conference of NextGen Korean Studies Scholars! We’re going to be talking about
Your Interdisciplinary Writing Superpower
Writing and publishing interdisciplinary scholarship as a graduate student comes with a unique set of challenges. You’re trying to find time to write amidst a million other obligations, you’re writing for multiple audiences with different sets of expertise, and you’re often serving as a teaching assistant or instructor in courses that are far afield of your research area or dissertation topic. But your interdisciplinary training can actually be your superpower. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to craft a writing routine that fits your real life, use your interdisciplinarity to write and teach a variety of subjects, and plan classroom activities to improve both your and your students’ writing.
