Series editor, Black Feminism on the Edge, Duke University Press

Jennifer C. Nash is the Jean Fox O’Barr Professor of Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at Duke University. She is the author of four books (all published on Duke University Press):

• The Black Body in Ecstasy: Reading Race, Reading Pornography
• Black Feminism Reimagined: After Intersectionality
• Birthing Black Mothers 
• How We Write Now: Living with Black Feminist Theory 

She is also the editor of Gender: Love (Macmillan, 2016), and a co-editor (with Samantha Pinto) of The Routledge Companion to Intersectionalities (Routledge, 2023). She co-edits (with Samantha Pinto) the Black Feminism on the Edge book series for Duke University Press and is the editorial director of Feminist Studies.

Adrienne Shaw is an associate professor in Temple University’s Department of Media Studies and Production and a member of the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication graduate faculty. She is author of Gaming at the Edge: Sexuality and Gender at the Margins of Gamer Culture (University of Minnesota Press, 2015) and co-editor of Planet Digital: A Global Media Cultures Reader (NYU Press, 2026), Interventions: Communication Research and Practice (Peter Lang, 2018), Queer Technologies: Affordances, Affect, Ambivalence (Routledge, 2017), and Queer Game Studies (University of Minnesota Press, 2017). Series author, Reproductive Justice: A New Vision for the 21st Century, University of California Press

Chris Barcelos is a transdisciplinary scholar-educator whose work analyzes the social sites where sexuality, race, and power collide. Barcelos is an associate professor of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies at the University of Massachusetts and director of the queer and trans studies minor. Chris’s first book, Distributing Condoms and Hope: The Racialized Politics of Youth Sexual Health (University of California Press, 2020) was awarded the Distinguished Book Award by the American Sociological Association Sexualities Section. Chris loves a good meme, a strong cup of coffee, and answering “not enough” when someone asks how many cats they have.
