Summer McDonald
Developmental editorSummer McDonald (she/her) is a developmental editor at Ideas on Fire, where she helps interdisciplinary scholars hone their arguments and create powerful work that resonates with readers.
She runs her own freelance editing business and is a former developmental editor at the Great Books Foundation.
Summer is also a writer whose work explores literature, race, sports, and popular culture. She has written for ESPN, the Black Youth Project, Specter Literary Magazine, and the Literary Hub. In 2017, Summer was selected as a member of the National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) Emerging Critics inaugural cohort.
Summer received her MA in English from the University of Chicago and her BA in English from Purdue University.
