Dr. Morgan Genevieve Blue (she/her) is an indexer and developmental editor at Ideas on Fire, where she uses her interdisciplinary knowledge and keen eye for detail to build indexes and edit book proposals that extend the reach of interdisciplinary scholarship.

Morgan also runs BLUE Indexing & Editorial Services, where she edits, proofreads, and indexes books for scholars in a wide range of disciplines and at all points in their careers. She also reviews book proposals and manuscripts for academic presses and researches girls’ media culture.

She is especially knowledgeable in gender studies, critical cultural studies, media studies, performance studies, and childhood and youth studies.

Morgan is the author of Girlhood on Disney Channel: Branding, Celebrity, and Femininity (Routledge, 2017) and an editor of Mediated Girlhoods: New Explorations of Girls’ Media Culture, Vol. 2 (Peter Lang, 2018).

Her research has also been published in Feminist Media StudiesFilm, Fashion and ConsumptionJournal of Children and Media, and Red Feather Journal, and Voicing Girlhood: Performance, Authority, Authenticity (Routledge, 2016).

Morgan was the founding program coordinator and media producer for the Humanities Media Project in the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin.

She holds a PhD in media studies from the Department of Radio-Television-Film in the College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned an editorial fellowship for her work on The Velvet Light Trap (UT Press). She also holds a graduate portfolio in women’s and gender studies from UT-Austin and a BA in comparative literature from Indiana University, Bloomington.
