Rachel Fudge

Rachel Fudge (she/her) is the editorial director at Ideas on Fire, where she manages a diverse portfolio of book and journal projects and ensures our clients as well as editorial team have the tools they need to get awesome texts out into the world.
Rachel has run her own freelance editing business for 20 years, providing copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and project management services to academic and trade publishers, nonprofits, and independent authors.
She is a member of the ACES Society for Editing, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and the Bay Area Editors’ Forum. She believes that editors have the power to effect social change through conscious language and an awareness of biases.
Rachel earned her BA in history and American studies from Princeton University.
In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the foggy beaches and breezy hilltops of the San Francisco Bay Area with her family.
